WWF INTERNATIONAL - "Carlos, tigers need our help 🐯!" 2021


 

This Global Tiger Day, we're calling for action to secure the future of this iconic species.

Dear Carlos,

Tigers are one of the world's most recognized animals. Throughout history they have played an important role in cultural traditions across Asia, as well as brands and logos all over the world today. But while they might be a staple across our cultural landscape, their actual existence in the wild is under severe threat. 

In the last 25 years, tigers have become extinct in Cambodia, Lao PDR, and Viet Nam. And tiger populations are continuing to decline across the rest of mainland Southeast Asia. Snares, habitat loss, illegal tiger trade and decreasing numbers of prey are major threats to the remaining tigers – but it's not too late. 

This Global Tiger Day, we're calling for action to save this iconic species. Right now, it's still possible for tigers to bounce back in Southeast Asia if governments make strong commitments that prioritize their future. We cannot let these animals disappear – here's how they can be protected:
